Here's the bottom line on this place.

The rake is ridiculous and they have a lot of rules restrictions on the players (what you can wear, etc). The comp packages is one of the lowest I've ever seen. And it's right by the slots so you have no peace.

The actual floor staff was ok, games were alright but nothing spectacular. Overall, I just didn't have a great time and couldn't recommend it to anyone else. Maybe I'm spoiled playing at the places I do but not coming back here won't break my heart at all.

Played here for the first time last week. I was in the area for biz, and had some time to kill on a Saturday afternoon, so I checked Poker Atlas for the closes room. They do allow you to call ahead and get on a list, up to an hour before you arrive. I still had to wait a while after getting there, but a new 1-2 NLH game got going after about a 30 minute wait. Dealers and floor were friendly. Two things stand out: 1) the rake is 10% up to $10; 2) at one heads-up showdown, checked at the river, player 1 checked and player 2 flipped over his cards to show A high, and layer 1 flipped over one card to show top that he had paired the board. The dealer shoved player 1 the pot, and then somebody else said he needed to show both cards, which wee by this time mucked. The dealer said he didn't know that was a rule 'at this casino'. It was a small pot and nobody else seemed to care, so that was that. That was just weird.

Grand Victoria Casino offers the best selection slots, table games & live poker near Chicago. The Poker Room was the main destination for me. Overall - the Casino was in good shape. Parking was convenient and well lit. Property was clean. Poker Room was well run. Saturday afternoon - Called ahead and they put my name on the list for $1 / $2 game. Seated within five minutes of my arrival. Room was busy with a lot of players and action.
